Hi there! it's been a while since my last post, sorry my readers and followers, first came the crazy time for every-weekend markets for Xmas... then Xmas -in Spain- take at least two weeks, from 24 the Dec to 6 th January... but Here I am! 

You know that every post deserves a song and a recipe, this time the song came into my mind just to remember the great actor Philip Seymour - this song is part of the soundtrack of Boogie nights- and it's a catchy song that makes you move, ideal for a craft market.

Hola! Hace tiempo desde el último post que escribí, lo siento mucho mis queridos seguidores, primero estuvieron todos esos locos fines de semana con mercados navideños y  después las navidades - ya sabemos lo largas que son en España - pero aquí estoy de nuevo! 

Como ya sabéis cada post viene acompañado por una canción y una receta. Para este he elegido la canción de Melanie - Brand New Key, vino a mi mente al pensar en el post buscando una canción pegadiza y que te haga tararear o bailar, al mismo tiempo que con ella se puede recordar al gran actor Philip Seymour.

Hey! this is a post about the great  We Love Cats Market, so... of course I would bring you a recipe about "cats" , look at these delicious doughnuts!Yummy!!  There are cute and sweet, like every cat :D

I do love cats, they are my favourite animal besides deers, the difference.. a deer needs a lot of room, cats are more affordable and they can live in your home .. haha. So when I knew about this market I couldn't resist and I tried to be involved in. 

¡Sí! Este post es sobre el genial We Love Cats Market así qué.... claro que os traería una rica receta sobre "gatos" , ¡¡mirad estos deliciosos donuts!!  Ricos, ricos, lindos y dulces, como los gatos :D

Me encantan los gatos, es mi animal favorito junto con los ciervos, pero un ciervo ocupa un poco más dentro de casa que un gato, de momento, sólo gatos en casa ...jeje... Así que cuando supe sobre este market no pensé ni un momento en presentarme.

We love cats market takes place in Barcelona it's promoted by two amazing ladies, Vanessa & Montse and a cute assistant called Alba. What's the point of this market? So as you know Barcelona has a big city center/downtown/old city and abandoned cats live there, there's a volunteer - organization -UB gats -  that tries to take care of these street cats with donations. So these great ladies thought to connect the craft world and the furry felines one, and it is how the market began.

When I say that they are amazing is because they take care of you. Everyone who is a crafter knows what that means in a market, even more if you are attending a market in another city. The market took place in a great space - Allehaus - , these sweet ladies gave us a great brakfast both days, they were always asking about our needs and concerns, and you could see that everything that they did, it was for the cats' benefit and getting all the donations that they could, for instance, our booth's fee gave away for the cats.

We love cats Market es un mercado craft que se desarrolla en Barcelona, lo llevan y muy bien por cierto, dos estupendas chicas, Vanessa & Montse, junto con una linda ayudante llamada Alba. Y ¿Cuál es el objetivo de este mercado? Como sabes Barcelona tiene un gran centro- centro histórico, donde al igual que en muchos otros hay gatetes abandonados. Existe una organización  de voluntarios- UB gats - que intenta ayudar a estos animales urbanos, pero necesita de la ayuda de donaciones. Así que estas dos maravillosas personitas pensaron en conectar el mundo craft con el de los peludos felinos y así es como todo empezó. 

Cuando digo que estas chicas son estupendas, es porque lo son de verdad, y aquellos que participamos en mercados craft y que creemos en nuestro producto, sabemos lo que significa, incluso más cuando te trasladas de ciudad para mostrar tus piezas. Ellas nos atendieron estupendamente, el sitio elegido era espectacular - Allehaus - nos dieron un abundante y fabuloso desayuno; siempre atentas a nuestras necesidades; y podías ver cómo todo lo que hacían era para obtener donaciones,por ejemplo, nuestra participación para cubrir el puesto, se recogió en un totalidad para los gatetes....

I am glad to introduce you some of the brands that I had the pleasure of being surronded by, maybe some of them you know and some are new. I knew a few from other markets and it was great to meet them again and discover new onoes. We were around 30 crafters but unfortunately I couldn't take pics of everyone you can check more crafters here.

Vanessa & Montse know that I'm very grateful, I was super happy to be one of the brands they chose. I was surrounded by great crafters because the selection was really good. Of course, it was impossible not to buy gifts for Xmas and for me :D

Vanessa & Montse saben que estoy super agradecida por ser seleccionada para este mercado, estuve rodeada de marcas y crafters estupendos, debido a la buena selección que realizaron. Desde luego fue muy difícil no comprar, ¡así que me llevé muchos regalitos navideños y otros para mí! :D

In the end, the main goal was reached they got great donations for the abandoned cats while the public was enjoying our pieces and buying! ;)

Finalmente, el primer objetivo del market se consiguió, obtuvieron unas muy buenas donaciones para los gatetes abandonados mientras el público asistente se lo pasó muy bien disfrutando y comprando nuestras piezas 

¡¡Muchas gracias por venir, por ayudarnos a crecer y ayudar a los gatetes de la calle, nos vemos pronto amantes gatunos! !! miau!

La condición estar cerca de Valencia, igualmente me podéis preguntar porque viajo mucho por la zona del mediterráneo valenciano y catalán... y ser unas cuantas personas para poder  preparar un estupendo showroom!! :D

Montessori school Valencia _ located at Biopark

A couples of weeks ago Montessori School Valencia was hosting a little open market in its playground and I was invited to be part of it. I have to say it was a pleasure even thinking about the strong sunny day we had ;)
The school is located on an open terrace of the Biopark. Glass, corten steel and mansonry stone walls are the materials that lured me to figure out more about its interior.

Beacuse I was very, very curious, architectural speaking... I asked Sonia, the sweet director of the school to have a look during the most quiet moment of the day... early in a morning school day!

I found out ...peace..  Inside, it is all white walls and wooden boxes - washrooms- and frames, high ceilings and  little objects picked with care and located in their specific places, giving us a beauty image.

You are what you eat.. what would you like to be??? As a healthy food person I am, it could be impossible not to staring at that saying and have a look around that amazing open space, where children can see and learn from where the food comes... and for sure it is made with love in their bright blue kitchen!

How, if i were a child, I couldn't learn and develop my inner skills and show them to the rest??? :)

This is the school I had had the pleasure of designing as an architect, time ago, I was working designing primary schools, but for some reasons they were quite different than this one. Now, with these images it's able to understand how important it is to take care of the details and beauty spaces that allows to grow up children skills, it is a must in a project.

Oh yes! the playground!! and... the little garden where children plant, water and learn to take care of them!! and of course the market was happening out there :D

Green market for children's trip. Children were selling their own goodies, gifts and refresing drinks during a Saturday sunny morning, getting the amount to go on a trip!! 

It has been a pleasure to share the playground with some great sellers!

Cozy Market, Molly Market

If I think about the Molly Market in Madrid, cherry cheese cake comes into my mind at he moment when I am able to dance "Love is strange" surrounded by the warm and cozy place where the market was developed at, the HUB Madrid.

The HUB Madrid is a coworking space located in the neighbourhood called "las letras" in Madrid. Just besides the HUB It is the amazing building La caixa forum Madrid. So, just the location was ideal. I had time to go around and check all the museums in that hood as the Museo del Prado, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and the old books sellers market close to it, that I discovered.

The Molly Market perfectly matchs with this restored place, a former car - repair garage. A wide entrance allows to start the market on the very beginning, making a call to the street walkers.

The slight renovation is perfect, it gives an old image and creates a cozy place. Leaving the old windows, cleanin up walls, changing the old flooring and replacing it by wooden flooring. 

I loved the old advertising that remains on the wall.

And the lihgt, the feature of this place that caught me :D Bright, clean and white light perfect for a handmade market that comes from a huge skylight along the ceiling .

After all this walk trough the place, the market is all about the organizers Jade and Rocío, they are always attentive and thoughtful, trying to help all the vendors any time we needed. And of course all the crafters who were there. THANK you all.

I had the pleasure to meet some new and amazing crafters, it's really nice to discover new talents, such as Marta, Rubén, Belén, Elena, Gabriela ....Sorry if I don't remember all the names... I am not good enough with names... ;) It was full of really nice brands! :D
