Hands, hands, handmade...

music by Ben Harper _ City of dreams

Big thanks to Jose Bravo, photographer who spent a day with Kishboo.

I wanted to write this post a long time ago, even if I tried it too hard I was very busy in the past few months. However, yesterday I was listening to music and I came across Ben Harper's song. I realized last time I listened to his music was over a year ago... And I really like his music when I have to be focused on a project or making any piece that needs concentration.

A post that talks about hands & handmade needs a recipe that requires effort, for me making bread with your hands and arms is the most difficult one, it takes too long till all the ingredients are mix together.

I've been working lately on a wide range of projects, Kishboo's orders, a small architectural project... I usually spend my free time in Kishboo, a personal project that I love.
Kishboo needs this considerable amount of time because my screen printing process is completely handmade, I don't use any machine that could help me. I personally select one by one the leather, fabrics, then they are prepared and cut by me.
I think these little features of my work are the ones that you, kishboo clients, love and give value.
Jose Bravo came by my studio and he captured my meticulous work and how my hands talk while I'm working.
Thanks Jose to look at my work, to notice how I make may pieces and to discover new ways to express my process.
Enjoy them...

Disfrutarlas...

I do love this photo. Sencillamente me encanta esta foto.

Chile is a long country ... and it's full of artists

Music by Kris Menace feat. Miss Kittin _ Hide

I like a lot this song, my friend Claudio Troncoso (you will find his work below) while we were chating on the internet he sent me this link, and I couldn't stop listening and watching, all those black and white geometrical drawings.

This post is about Chilean artist, that I like!  I had the pleasure of meet great people during my Master  in Barcelona, and after years of friendship I'm able to watch how their artistic work is developing. This time, I'm introducing artists that I found in my way looking for talented ones and some of them maybe you remember them from another post. Enjoy Chile's young talented artists! much better with a piece of chocolate cake :D

Illustrarions full of  colors well matched and naive lines. Pau Morgan works with bright colors in a good balance between them. There's something that remembers me in her work, of a little collection of books that I had when a was very little, I learnt from them shapes, colors and dimensions, and I can remember quite well how they were because of the colors they chose. Nice work Pau Morgan! :D

Team of two, called Estanpintando who enjoy drawing and painting nature based and geometrical illustrations, actually as Costanza & Trini say they have fun doing what they like! I found them on the internet and I was impressed about their "intervention city work". What a great idea to give a hint of color to boring and commonly grey structures that appear in our cities, endless walls, roads structural bridges, etc.  Estanpintando transforms those city elements, creating new urban spaces.

Time is stopped, I can feel silence. These feeling happens when I'm lured by his images. Claudio Troncoso loves photography and he's self-taught in old school analog cameras. Non digital photos, Claudio took these photos with his Fujica GW690 II using a Kodak Portra color iso 400 film. I'm very happy that there's people who still works with analog cameras capturing shots with a such amazing results as his.

María Aparicio Puentes "haute couture"  photographies, this is how I personally call them. She is a talented artist who creates pieces of art "spinning" photographies. Black and white photographies as canvas where she creates geometric lines with color threads, working on others photographers pics till the moment, let's see if María amazes us with her own ones soon :D

I hope you enjoyed this looooong country's  artists!!!

Sea monsters, salt and songs

Music by_ Lisa Hannigan_ Lille

Chocolate, Roasted Cherry & Salted Almond Ice Cream_ reclaiming provincial

There's only a way to listen to or read about old sailor tales... either swinging on a boat or curling up in a blanket while you are eating an amazing gelato in a rainy evening.

Photographer Claudio Troncoso Rojas  Co-funder The Time of Thieves

First you catch a glimpse of something blue while you start smelling the salt, then after passing by the trees the weak sunlights get stronger and stronger until the moment you arrive to the shore ... the sea lures you and there's no way to come back.

The sea always has had a magnet that lures me, I love the light of the mediterranean, going for a walk along the beach or just simply watch and listen to the waves.. so how could I don't write a post about all things you will find in it?

Thanks to Claudio for giving me the chance of showing you part of his art. Not only i'm a huge fan of his work but I also follow the time of thieves , it's "window" where you could find new and emerging artist.

20000 leagues under the sea & Amazing stories

If I think about my childhood's books & movies always come into my mind Jules Verne's ones. My dad loves SCI-fi old movies, and  I don't know if that is in my genes, but so do I. It was the first time I met the kraken...

Dotted tattoo by Juna

Sea monsters, such as the kraken, the daredevil, the gigant octopus.... all has been described as an enormous, evil and terrifying creature, but what about the chances that gave this incredible nature creation for artisic fields, such as illustrations, tattoos...
I do love this needdle one by one dotted tattoo, to create a dotted illustration you have to be a talented illustrator as Juna.

Juna is an illustrator and tattoo artist based in Valencia who takes care of the finishing touches of each project. I've arranged these images that fit perfectly in my sea post, thanks Juna.

Old tales/stories come from the struggle for survival between humans and nature in exposed and hostile environments. Then creatures, nature forces and imagination is combined to create culture believes and develop local art.
It's how I met David Blackwood prints, He's one of Canada's leading printmakers, and I loved Newfoundland's visual narratives. The work I had the pleasure to discover was an exhibition on childhood memories, dreams, superstitions, legends the oral tradition and the political realities of Wesleyville.

Looking for this creatures in the craft world, they turn into cute and friendly buddies. Linen, cotton, wool, natural fabrics basically are materials that Adatine, run by two creative crafters, uses to give them form.

Woodworking has been along stone, one of the most popular ways to represent art, create objects... This collection has been created by machines, taking a long manufacturing process and using 3 different sanding processes ....
I have had the pleasure that one of Kishboo lovers allows me to post her poem about whales, actually, she has this whale necklace :D

here it comes... the poem, sorry, it's only in spanish, but you can use google translate app. ;)

Dream, dreamy, daydream

I highly recommend listen to the music while you are checking this post... this music allows you to imagine, dream... You will be daydreaming along it
Night is the time that we can start dreaming without guilt, it's time to sleep... And it's time to eat some cookies before bed! So here you have a delicious recipe to improve yourself in the way of cooking cookies! :D But... what if you are those ones who can dream during every minute if you have the chance ;)

Artist _ Conrad Roset click the image! it's a video :D
This post is started by an ARTIST, yes, with capital letters because I can't stop admiring his work, since I first saw it. I am impressed by Musas collection, personal, close, intimate based on woman. And how couldn't open this post.... he loves his cat called "gris" (grey in spanish) :D

Artist _ Conrad Roset  Work for Oysho
I do love cats.... and here it is the BIG brother of my little tiger cat Coco, I couldn't resist post it. When i look at his pieces maybe because of the colors' combination, or perhaps because of his technique I let my imagination soar....

Look at Peter Pan! He was waiting every night to listen Wendy telling tales... and then flying away to the stars ** Emily's MacDowell lettering are simply amazing!

Sometimes we think the night has come but it's just a eclipse when you almost can glimpse a faint sunlight eluding the darkness...  I love how the nature inspires this great artist.

Or maybe you are those ones who need to reach the moon to start dreaming.... Apparently this sweet artist got it, pretty drawings and illustrations full of colors.

Don't worry there are more than one options to reach the stars or the moon , a long long ladder and a balloon! :D sweet illustration

Michelle Kreusser _ The fox in the Attic
Or.... perhaps you need to squeeze a cushion, cloud shape will help! :D

VIcky & Kishboo
And if you want to keep dreaming ... anchors are needed to stop wherever you are! ;)

Cats! I do love cats!

Music by_ Henry Mancini

The song is inspired by breakfast at Tiffany's movie... but you know it's from Hatari! However, I don't know why.... I have always imagined cats walking and dancing with this song.

Good morning world! yanwing, stretchinig, and meowwwwwing! that's all and we are ready for the new cats' post! :D

So.. we can start dancing! :D

Cats are always having fun and hanging out together :P

I'm very lucky because I have some illustrations from this artist! Thanks Mai! ;)
You know how much they love playing with boxes.

They are soft and fluffy, when you squeeze them they reply you with a long meowwwww!

When they really want they are extremly loving and affectionate.

They love procrastinating... but .. sometimes they can work hard

And before going to bed, they usually enjoy walking under the stars...

good night my loving cat lovers!

I do love cats.... because I am a cat. coco ;)
