Collaborations III. True fabrics with Caterina Pérez

music by Sidney Bechet _ Si tu vois ma mère

Today I'm talking about a maker that I really admire, Caterina Pérez. Since the first time I attended a market and discovered her and her product, I knew I would buy her bags (I did it ;). When you visit her website, you feel that you can find a little piece of her soul in her designs, bags, home collection items...  It's a delight.
As if you would be walking around the streets of your favourite city, along the seaside... listening ggod music and eating something "true" and delicious listening this song... it's the same for me when I visit her blog.

Asking her during a winter market for a future collaboration was a great idea, because working with and for Caterina is very easy, she knew perfectly what she wanted, and I only had to guide her a little. She gave me some images of plants that she loves and the choice came out immediately.
When I say that every of her "pieces" has a piece of her soul it's true, the linen that she chose carefully it's simply amazing, it's a genuine fabric, natural, when you touch it you can feel some of the linen's filaments. So imagine how great was for me to work with it, screen printing onto that fabric, treating it with respect as the material it is and carefully as she does.

This project is included in her collection Stay Home, a sweet collection that everyday home objects turn into something special with a lovely touch, as aprons, tote bags, salad bowls and linen tea towels. It has been created as a limited edition and numbered collection, and possibly the first drawing of a botanical line.

We hope you like it and enjoy this walk through the high quality linen fabric - botanical screen printing collaboration.
I highly recommend you to check Caterina's last collection, Summer Retreat, simply beautiful.
